Springfield Republican Editorial: Treatment bill for terror victims should pass
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has filed legislation that would give domestic terrorism victims access to military treatment facilities
It's not easy getting bipartisan support for anything in Washington, but a bill to give better treatment to domestic terrorism victims should be passed.
The bill would give access to such treatments at appropriate military health care facilities. It empowers the Department of Defense, in consultation with the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies, to promptly contact, coordinate and provide medical expertise to local health care facilities treating terrorism-related injuries.
The bill was submitted by Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, who first introduced it late in 2016. If Congress and President Trump have the welfare of the citizenry in mind, the bill will not be stalled or defeated because of its author.
