Warren Statement on Nomination of Martin Gruenberg as FDIC Chair
Washington, D.C. – United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, released the following statement regarding the nomination of Martin Gruenberg as Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Chair:
“I applaud President Biden’s decision to nominate Martin Gruenberg to lead the FDIC. Gruenberg is an effective regulator with a proven track record of holding banks accountable. He has spent his entire career fighting for American consumers, and he is well equipped to continue defending the banking system from new and existing threats. Under his leadership, I am confident that the FDIC will work to ensure that banks serve the needs of American families, not just bank executives.”
