Senators Warren, Brown Issue Statement on DOL Settlement with Restaurant Associates
Washington, DC - United States Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) today issued the following statement in response to the Department of Labor's announcement that it would not debar Restaurant Associates, a cafeteria contractor that services the U.S. Capitol and other federal offices, from obtaining future government contracts due to allegations it had underpaid employees:
"Federal contractors like Restaurant Associates that rely on taxpayer dollars should be held to fair labor standards, and when they cheat their workers they shouldn't get another dime from taxpayers. President Trump may think it's fine to stiff his own workers, but Congress created the Department of Labor to stand up for working people - not to reward giant companies that cheat their employees."
