Senators Warren and Markey Convene Bipartisan Advisory Committee on Massachusetts Judicial Nominations to the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts
Washington, DC - United States Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) today announced they will convene a bipartisan advisory committee to review and provide recommendations on federal District Court candidates across Massachusetts. Candidates interested in applying for a U.S. District Court nomination must submit their applications to the Advisory Committee by Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
The Advisory Committee on Massachusetts Judicial Nominations will solicit, interview, and comment on applications for federal District Court vacancies. The Advisory Committee comprises distinguished members of the Massachusetts legal community, including prominent academics and litigators, and is chaired by former U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Gertner.
"The Advisory Committee plays a critical role ensuring that highly qualified, fair-minded judges are appointed to federal courts in the Commonwealth," said Senators Warren and Markey. "We look forward to receiving the Committee's recommendations."
Interested candidates may access an application here, and questions may be directed to Judge Gertner at GertnerCommittee@gmail.com. Applications must be completed and received by January 27, 2021.
