Sen. Warren: Vaccines are Safe, Effective, and Best Chance to Protect our Children from Diseases

WASHINGTON, DC — United States Senator Elizabeth Warren spoke at a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee hearing today titled, “The Reemergence of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases: Exploring the Public Health Successes and Challenges.”

At the hearing, the Senator asked Dr. Anne Schuchat, the director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about the science around vaccines, and highlighted the importance of vaccinations to our public health.

“Parents should know that all of the credible scientific evidence suggests that modern vaccines are safe, modern vaccines are effective and modern vaccines are our best chance of protecting our children from diseases that can kill them,” Senator Warren said.
