Senator Warren Applauds New Army Helicopter Engine Design Contract for GE's Lynn Facility

Boston, MA - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren today applauded the announcement that GE Aviation has been awarded a two-year contract as part of the U.S. Army's Improved Turbine Engine Program (ITEP). This contract will support more than 100 engineers working on the GE3000 engine for Black Hawk and Apache helicopters, primarily at GE Aviation's facility in Lynn, MA. Under the contract, the Army will conduct a Preliminary Design Review of the GE3000 engine.

"Our military has long benefited from the dedicated and talented workforce at GE Aviation's facility in Lynn, and this new project will help the Army further develop its capabilities," Senator Warren said. "I was glad to support this contract, and I will keep working with the congressional delegation and local officials to ensure that Massachusetts continues to play a key role in strengthening our national defense."
