Trump COVID-19 Watch

Washington, DC - Elizabeth Warren is continuing her oversight of the Trump Administration's COVID-19 response. The country is breaking records daily on the number of coronavirus cases and unemployment rates are the highest since the Great Depression. President Donald Trump's failure to lead has allowed the virus to spread and put millions of Americans' lives and livelihoods at risk.

Senator Warren led nearly 100 Members of Congress urging ICE and DHS to immediately withdraw new guidance that threatens international students with deportation - and yesterday the Administration responded to the pressure and announced they will rescind this dangerous and xenophobic policy.

As part of an ongoing investigation into the accreditation of private prisons and detention facilities, Senator Warren demanded information on the American Correctional Association's measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Senators Warren, Merkley and Booker opened an investigation into the largest food and beverage processors and farm operators about how they are protecting their workers and the food supply chain from potential outbreaks of COVID-19 at their facilities.

Senator Warren questioned the Trump Administration's failure to follow the law and publicly release plans to address racial and ethnic disparities in health care.

Senator Warren called on Treasury Secretary Mnuchin and Fed Chair Powell to provide more financial assistance to state and local Governments - and provide it quickly - to prevent deeper cuts in services that would disproportionately hurt people of color.

UPCOMING: Senator Warren will be probing the CDC and CMS on nursing home demographic data collection.
