The Springfield Republican: Sen. Elizabeth Warren appears with Barack Obama in Weekly Address to talk of financial reforms
U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Massachusetts, appears this weekend with President Barack Obama in his Weekly Address of the President of the United States touting post-recession reforms of the financial system.
Warren was long an advocate for the consumer-friendly reforms to the financial and banking systems even before taking office in 2013.
"You know the banking crisis was not some act of nature. The whole thing could have been avoided. But we didn't have rules in place to stop Wall Street from taking enormous risks that threaten the whole economy," Warren said in the video embedded below. "We didn't have strong protections to keep consumers from being cheated by tricks and traps."
