Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Tim Sheehy (R-Mont.) released the below statement on the advancement of military right to repair in the FY 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):
“This is an important milestone towards getting right to repair into law. It’s common sense that our military should have the right to repair its own equipment — that’s why right to repair is supported by the Trump White House, the Secretary of War, the Secretary of the Army, entrepreneurs, small businesses, veterans, and service members.
“We’re going to fight tooth and nail to get our troops the full right to repair into law.”
Last year, the senators introduced the Warrior Right to Repair Act to require contractors to provide the Department of Defense with access to technical data and materials the military needs to repair and maintain its own equipment.
